I'm Shannon (or Shan) Smith, a Toronto-based ceramic artist. I make whimsical, small-batch ceramics, working with joyful colours and my signature carved star patterns. Because we all deserve our "cup of stars" (Shirley Jackson, The Haunting Of Hill House).

I love (and hate) how clay forces me to slow down, confronts my need for instant gratification, and keeps me on my toes. Fast forward 2 years, I'm so grateful to be able to share my pieces with you as well.

All of my pieces are wheel-thrown, handmade, and hand-carved by me in my tiny home studio corner. My work is made to bring hope, colour, and community back to my life. I hope it can do the same for you.
